Beverly Hills Fillers & Fat Transfers
The results from facial rejuvenation procedures involving fillers and fat transfers are often immediate, leading to their incredible popularity. The demand for facial fillers and fat transfers in Beverly Hills is strong, with practices competing for the attention and trust of their clientele. As a prospective client for these procedures, how do you determine whether a filler or fat transfer is appropriate for your cosmetic needs? Furthermore, how can you choose your facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon in Beverly Hills with confidence?
McCoy Moretz, MD and the team at F.A.C.E. of Beverly Hills would like to give you a refresher course on the differences between fat transfers and fillers, as well as which options are appropriate for certain cosmetic needs. Learning more about procedures offered in our Beverly Hills cosmetic surgery office can help you make more informed decisions when choosing a plastic surgeon for your next procedure.
Fillers Vs. Fat Transfers
Fillers and fat transfers, in a general sense, are often compared based upon how successfully they can be performed while remaining as natural, and non-invasive as possible. In this sense, fat transfers may be the preferred choice in many cases for being the more natural and sturdier option. However, a more detailed way to compare fillers and fat transfers is to look at how they are implemented to reach a certain cosmetic end.
In the case of wrinkle reduction, both may be appropriate. However, certain types of wrinkles, such as those in the brow and forehead, should be treated with a neuromodulator. While results are often immediate with both procedures, for fillers the immediacy of results can be mixed depending on the filler chosen.
Both fillers and fat transfers are effective for volume enhancement. The major difference here comes in the length of time results last. Fat transfers are aimed to be permanent or at least long-lasting solutions and are thus considered to be the sturdier option. Fillers are temporary, lasting between 6 months and two years.
When comparing the minor side effects such as swelling, fillers and fat transfers have a similar rate of both. While swelling is typically a shorter-term side effect from fillers than fat transfers, fillers do present the risk that is always present when injecting a foreign substance into the body; the risk of complication from allergies or adverse reaction. This is why the side effects overall with fat transfers are considered to be lesser than those of fillers.
Eligibility is determined by a number of factors and only a doctor can help you decide if any cosmetic procedure is right for you. Contact Dr. Moretz today!
