HA Filler Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty
A typical rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure in which the shape of the nose is altered for improved appearance and/or function (breathing). As the nose is the centerpiece of the face, a “nose job” or rhinoplasty can make a dramatic difference in an individual’s appearance on its own. Additionally, a rhinoplasty can go a long way in improving a person’s confidence if they are currently unhappy with the appearance of their nose in proportion to the rest of their face.
At F.A.C.E. of Beverly Hills, facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon Dr. McCoy Moretz offers both conventional rhinoplasty and HA Filler Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty. The latter treatment utilizes hyaluronic acid, providing for a less invasive procedure than a standard, surgical rhinoplasty. There are many benefits to choosing this option for improving the appearance and function of the nose. To learn more about nonsurgical rhinoplasty, read on!
Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty with Hyaluronic Acid
The nose is comprised primarily of bone in the upper portion and cartilage in the lower portion. Surgical rhinoplasty can permanently alter the bone, cartilage, or skin of the nose in order to improve its appearance or function. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty, on the other hand, utilizes hyaluronic acid fillers to artistically transform the appearance of the nose. HA fillers are injected, while no nasal material is actually removed during the procedure. These are the same fillers utilized in other treatments offered by Dr. Mac Moretz, including nonsurgical facelifts. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is also referred to as liquid rhinoplasty.
Candidates for nonsurgical rhinoplasty with HA filler will typically be looking for one or more of the following cosmetic improvements:
- Straightened Bridge Appearance
- Improved Overall Symmetry
- Smoothed Appearance of Bumps
- Lifted or Modified Nasal Tip
- Eliminated Appearance of Imperfections (grooves, depressions, etc.)
While nonsurgical rhinoplasty technically makes the nose bigger since fillers are being added, this approach can be used to make the nose actually appear smaller. There is an art to the procedure, hence the reason why it is so important to work with a trusted facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon in Beverly Hills like Dr. McCoy Moretz.
Pros and Cons
The primary benefit to a nonsurgical rhinoplasty over a surgical nose job is the convenience offered by a minimally invasive approach. There is virtually no downtime with HA Filler Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty, whereas a surgical procedure is often accompanied by two full weeks of downtime.
If your concerns are not just cosmetic and you are looking for improved function of the nose, a nonsurgical rhinoplasty may not be right for you. While results can last 6 to 18 months, they are temporary and are aimed primarily at improving cosmetic appearance only. Additionally, some dramatic changes may require a surgical approach over a nonsurgical one depending on your expectations following the procedure. Dr. Moretz is happy to review your options with you during consultation.
