Our Approach to Cosmetic Surgery Revision Work
The staff at F.A.C.E. of Beverly Hills including Dr. McCoy Moretz (Dr. Mac) believe that quality and customer satisfaction are of paramount importance to running a successful practice. This means that with each and every procedure we perform, we understand that the patient has the right to obtaining the best possible results. In this capacity, we work with patients as much as possible to ensure the procedure goes exactly as planned and leaves them with the results they wanted. Unfortunately, not all clinics are as understanding of their patients’ needs. And some do downright poor work. For this reason, we frequently treat patients needing cosmetic surgery revision work.
It could be something as simple as a minor touch-up, facelift, or a botched operation from a surgeon at another practice. In the latter case, Dr. Mac understands that empathy is an indispensable skill in earning a patient’s trust that we can actually correct the problem. In these cases, many patients are disgusted with their results and are in a place where they feel stuck. They are potentially embarrassed by how they look while finding a new doctor, yet they have more trouble moving forward with a procedure because their trust has been broken.
Dr. Mac’s goal is to restore your faith in the cosmetic surgery industry. To earn back your trust and provide a solution with a corrective procedure. Finally, he strives to resolve your issues and get you walking out of our office with a confident smile on your face.
If you’re in the market for a cosmetic procedure and haven’t chosen a doctor yet, a good starting point in being proactive is to ask your doctor about their revision policy. Any procedure comes with the possibility of complications regardless of how good your surgeon is. Make sure you understand how potential problems may be addressed. Be completely honest with your medical history, follow pre and post op self-care instructions closely and understand that you are just as responsible for taking care of yourself following your procedure as your doctor is during it.
If your procedure requires downtime, make sure to inform your work place of any time off you may need. Understand that you are not obligated to tell your employer the specific reason for your workplace absence other than your need for medical leave. HIPAA protects you here, so know your rights and exercise them. Dr. Mac will work with you in ensuring you get the time you need to recover following your procedure.
If you will need to make special preparations for your recovery time, such as preparing meals for a new diet, make sure to do them in advance of your procedure.
What Revision Work Do We Accept?
If we perform the procedure, we will do revision work for the same procedure in most cases. Unless your former surgeon has done something that cannot be corrected with your preferred cosmetic procedure or there are other limiting circumstances, we can generally work with you to correct most issues.
If it feels too good to be true, it probably is. If a surgeon is offering a pricey procedure at a heavily discounted rate, there is generally a reason for that.
It’s better to do a procedure once correctly than it is to do the same procedure at a discount and then need subsequent corrective work. Most patients who have chosen a discount doctor and later need corrective work end up spending substantially more than if they got it right the first time.
Every procedure comes with some level of risk. Ask specific questions about what to expect following your procedure and how to minimize side effects. Never book a procedure unless you are able to follow through on your own responsibility to maintain the results.
