What’s the Difference Between Pixel8 & Morpheus8 Microneedling?
Microneedling is a very popular treatment at F.A.C.E. of Beverly Hills. And things aren’t slowing down. Every day, more of our patients see the benefits of Pixel8 microneedling treatments. However, many potential patients may not fully understand what microneedling is. Additionally, they may not know the differences between the two top microneedling machines – the Pixel8 and Morpheus8. That’s where we come in.
We’re here to demystify the microneedling process and to teach you about the machine we use (the Pixel8). Finally, we’ll tell you about the Morpheus8, compare the two devices, and tell you why we’ve chosen to use the Pixel8.
So, are you interested in learning more about Pixel8 microneedling treatments in Beverly Hills? We hope you’ll find the following info helpful in making your decision to book your next microneedling treatment with us.
What is Microneedling and What Can it Do?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses tiny needles to puncture the outer layer of your skin. Microneedling has shown to boost collagen production which, in turn, leads to firm, rejuvenated, healthier skin. Additionally, microneedling can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Microneedling can be done at home with simple dermaroller tools. You can achieve some results at home, but they’re about as good as you can expect from a simple at-home treatment. While this might seem a less painful option, the problem is that you won’t achieve the same results. However, if you’re looking for a professional micro-needling procedure from a cosmetic surgeon, you’ll likely be receiving treatment from a machine like the Pixel8.
Other benefits from Beverly Hills micro-needling treatments include better absorption of topical cleansers, toners, and hydrating lotions. Additionally, your pores may shrink up with time. Finally, you’ll have glowing silky smooth skin; all with little to no pain.
But that’s not all. According to a 2009 study, nearly 100% of microneedling patients reported noticeable positive improvements in the appearance of their acne scars after treatment. This is fantastic news for anyone who feels like they’ve tried every product under the sun to hide embarrassing acne scars. Finally, you may have the long-awaited answer to your problem.
Pixel8 Vs. Morpheus8
So, what’s the difference between the Pixel8 and Morpheus8 microneedling machines? Like many top competing brands, this can become a bit complicated. Similar to comparing Coke and Pepsi or Blendtec and Vitamix, in some ways it can be your surgeon’s personal preference. However, in other ways, there are benefits to utilizing the Pixel8 over the Morpheus8 microneedling machine.
The Pixel8, also known as the Pixel8-RF is a radio frequency microneedling system. It’s our preferred choice here at F.A.C.E. of Beverly Hills. It uses bi-polar, RF energy alongside minimally invasive micro-needles to facilitate effective, non-surgical, skin tightening with little to no downtime.
The microneedles in the Pixel8 can be adjusted from .5mm up to 3.5mm. This allows us to address each individual patient’s facial needs. This allows for uniform application of RF energy in target areas like the cheeks, neck, forehead, and around the eyes. Consequently, coagulation occurs evenly without any risk of energy interference caused by overlapping at close distances.
After microneedling, your skin works fairly quickly to rejuvenate new tissue. You should see results within a couple of weeks. Depending on the number of Pixel8 sessions you receive, you can expect results to last for up to a year or more. At F.A.C.E. of Beverly Hills, we recommend three Pixel8 procedures to achieve the best possible results.
Like the Pixel8, the Morpheus8 is a radio frequency microneedling system. It targets subdermal layers of the skin and tissue to remodel collagen on the face and body. 24 coated needles penetrate into the facial tissue, leading to coagulation of fat as well as contraction of the reticular dermis and surrounding connective tissue.
The Morpheus8 microneedling machine penetrates subdermal tissue from a range of .5mm up to 7mm. Therefore, it does have the potential to penetrate the skin to deeper depths than the Pixel8. However, it is only recommended that the manufacturer that facial depths not exceed 2mm. Therefore, we find this level of increased penetration to be minimal in value and certainly not worth the extra costs that get passed down to our patients.
While it may have a better application to other areas of the body, facial microneedling patients may not realize additional benefits. When comparing the two devices, we’ve determined that the Pixel8 is plenty sufficient to deliver the results our patients are looking to achieve.
Microneedling With the Pixel8
Ultimately, we prefer the Pixel8 over the Morpheus8 micro-needling machine. This machine allows us to offer a high-quality micro-needling experience to our patients at a reduced cost per treatment. After all, microneedling treatments aren’t just for the wealthy.
As the Morpheus8 is a much more expensive machine, other Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeons will transfer that cost onto their patients. Some can afford this, while others cannot. Often times, they won’t inform their patients that there is a more cost-effective option to achieve the incredible results they desire.
At F.A.C.E. of Beverly Hills, our goal is to make this treatment available and affordable for anyone who wishes to enjoy the benefits of microneedling. We hope you’ll come join us for a series of microneedling sessions so you can see just how amazing this treatment is.
